Summary of Book
basic operational and applications of electronic devices is fundamental in
understanding the functional and design aspects of electronics techniques,
sub-system or system irrespective of whether it is analog or digital. The study
of electronics devices and circuits is essential since majority of electronics
systems have both analog and digital content.
Though present day electronics is dominated by linear and
digital integrated circuits, the importance of discrete devices cannot be
undervalued as they continue to be used in large numbers in a variety of
electronic circuits. In addition, understanding operational basics of these
devices makes it easier to understand more complex integrated circuits. This
textbook covers electronic devices and circuits in entirety, for undergraduate
and graduate level courses. This study is pertinent for students of electronics,
electrical, communication, instrumentation and control, information technology
and even computer science engineering.
About the Author
K. Maini is a Senior Scientist and Director at the
Laser Science and Technology Centre, an R&D establishment under Defence
Research and Development Organization (DRDO), India. He has worked on a wide
range of electronics, optoelectronics and laser systems and his areas of
expertise include optoelectronic sensor systems, laser systems, power
electronics, digital electronics and related technologies.
He has nine books to his credit such as Digital Electronics:
Principles and Applications, Satellite Technology: Principles and Applications,
Microwaves and Radar, Handbook of Electronics, Electronics and Communication
Simplified, Electronics for Competitions, Television Technician's Course,
Electronics Projects for Beginners and Facing the Interview Board for
Electronics Professionals, to name a few He has also authored about 150
technical articles and papers in national and international magazines and
conferences and has two patents (patent pending) to his credit. He is Life
Fellow of Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) and
Life Member of Indian Laser Association.
Varsha Agrawal is also a Scientist at the Laser Science and
Technology center. She is with the Defence Research and Development
Organization (DRDO) under the Government of India since the past ten years and
has been working on the design and development of a variety of electronics
sub-systems for a range of defence-related applications.
